I just found out it is 117$ just for valves and id like to know how hard it is to do on my own and what i need to do it.

 

If your mechanically inclined, you will need a manual, a set of feeler guages, and a few hand tools. Valve adjustment is a fairly easy task, however not for the light hearted.

 

That would depend on the model .. $117 for valve adj. on a Recon is high (it's only 1/2-3/4 hour job .. $117 for adj on a TRX450ER isn't quite so bad (it could need 4 shims at approx. $6.00CDN each) Plus pulling and re-torquing the cam possibly 1-2 times ...

That ones quite simple, remove the fuel tank and you will have access to the valves.

 

My o7 Rubicon is due for the first adjustment, but I'm afraid to let the dealer mechanics work on it. I'll probably do them myself.

 

The rubi is not to bad... more tedious then anything... removing the plastic and the fuel tank....
