My girlfriend rides and it scares the H*LL out of me.
I mean I think its great but she's been in a couple accidents.
Does anyone have medicine for strong migraines.LOL.
All in all I love to see girls ride, even if some are accident prone, I'm not perfect either.

Hey Monica! Your right about everyone giving you that LOOK when you tell people about riding. My neighbor has a quad, but she doesn't enjoy riding as much as I do. Both of us have some sort of disability, but I won't let mine get me down, no matter how much it hurts! My hubby and I have never had so much fun together as we have since we bought our quads. And we have lots more years to enjoy it. Tax time we plan on getting some intercoms so we can talk and listen to some tunes while we are riding. I want to try jumping, but if it involves my arms I don't think I will be able to do them. I sure as hell am going to try though... one more fall won't kill me, I hope.
Happy Trails!

I hear you angelon! We need to get together and go riding sometime! We were in Toccoa this weekend, as a matter of fact. It was mine and hubby's first time riding there and I must say I loved it! Many of the trails were frozen and it presented an interesting challenge to keep my quad on the trail when it wanted to slide sideways. I've had some interesting hillclimbs...most of them occured this weekend. Three times, my front end came up and threatened to turn over, and three times I managed to catch it and make it up the hill. I earned the respect of the guys we were riding with...finally! We've ridden with them only 3 times before, and I agree that when you ride with fast, agressive men, they challenge you to ride beyond your comfort zone and try some new things. I think my biggest problem for me is my quad. We bought the Recon new in '98 because my husband wanted me to have something easy to ride because I'd never ridden alone. We spent our first 6 months riding together on my husbands '87 Warrior! I decided that I really wanted my own four wheeler, so David bought me the Recon. A year later, he sold his Warrior and bought the 400ex. Now, my riding has come farther than anyone could have predicted; I can pull through deep mud, jump fairly large hills, climb some gnarly, rutted hills, and basically keep up with whoever I'm riding with. My biggest issue is speed. The Recon gets so rough at high speeds, I feel like I'm going to fly over the handlebars; that's why I'm not comfy going fast. I used to get nervous at logs and short steep hills, but I finally learned how to keep my weight over the front end to keep it from popping up, and I finally can jump logs fairly well. I like riding with men because even though they respect my riding ability, they also all look out for me and are there to help with the muscle issue; for instance, when I get stuck, there's no way in heck I can lift out my back end out of the ruts. Also, when my quad tried to flip on me at Toccoa, I could hold it in place, but there was no way for me to muscle it back down the hill. Luckily, I had 5 big strong men looking out for the girl of the group. I think it's cool, though, that even though men I've never ridden with would think I would be the one to hold them back, I'm usually the one they're impressed with (like this weekend). I love to ride my quad, and am getting a yellow 400ex next year when my Recon is paid off. In the meantime, an FMF pipe and some Works shocks are on the wish list!
Happy riding! If any of you ladies wish to exchange e-mail, mine is trailqueen1@aol.com
I'd love to hear stories and whatever else. Angelon, maybe we could ride in Toccoa when it opens again Later everyone!

I agree, Rubidude, you're so right. Anyways, I'm 16 and it seems that girls are much more comfortable sitting behind me on one of my quads than guys are. I don't know why my female friends are less afraid (or not afraid at all), but I love it! In face, after I take a girl on one of my 45 minute trails, she wants to drive! I'm not saying they are going to go out and buy an ATV after me taking them for a ride on my quad, but I'm glad to see that girls take as much of an interest (perhaps even more) in quads as guys do!

Monica, I so agree with you! I ride quads and drive a full size extended cab GMC Sierra with flowmasters and a soon to be lifted up suspension! I love to throw away the "girly girl" stereotype and get muddy on the trails or on the track! I envy your ability to fly on your fourwheeler; I broke my collarbone by flipping my quad a few years ago and I still haven't lost my cautious edge yet. Maybe once I get my yellow 400 Do you love your 250R? Do you have any problems keeping it in control? That's my husband's worry with getting the 400 rather than the 300 because even his 400 gets away from him a little bit. I do know I won't be buying a DS650 anytime soon! Anyway, I like your attitude!
