You drill 1" holes, and the round vents just pop into the holes. The vents have little filters in them that you will need to keep clean. I don't oil my little filters, because I find that then they plug up to quickly.

On the 250EX, you have to keep the holes around the edges of the lid. If you put them in the middle, they are to deep and will actually hit into the filter directly.

Four of them is about right! Remember, the little 250 can not handle to much air. You get to much, and it won't jet properly.....

I just used a paddle drill bit. If you aren't planning on using the bit for anything else, you might check a pawn shop for one. A little cheaper than going out and buying a new one.
