250EX vs. 300EX?
#1
How comfortable is the 300EX for larger riders? I'm 6'2" and 165 lbs....Is it going to be comfortable? Is the 250EX going to be much smaller? I'm trying to decide which one I want of the two...Any suggestions?

300EX OR 250EX...SAME SIZE BIKE. 300EX JUST HAS A COUPLE MORE cc TO IT. I WOULD JUST LOOK AT WHICH ONE HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BETTER. A 300EX IS WHAT I RIDE AND A BUDDY OF MINE HAS A 250X AND THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BY SIGHT IS THE COLOR, HEADLIGT AND HE HAS A KICKSTART. HOPE THIS HELPS.

no contest i don t know how much you would miss ample shock travel and being able to change sprocket size's or haveing a light quad thats proven itsself since 93 but iv rode a few 300ex's and i think it would be a fine quad for your size the 250ex really isn t a sport quad its sporty whatever that means however if your not planing to wild and speed isn t a big thing to you plus no chain to clean or keep tight ya really can t go to wrong with a honda but the 300ex remember there are 1000's of aftermarket parts for it rangeing from handleing upgrade's to engine hop ups etc...... this new quad you will have to wait on aftermarket goodies and i don t think the aftermarket companie's will be jumping all over this one like more real sport model's think about it read the review's and take both for a spin

I'm 5'7" and I would'nt want to ride the 300 if I was any bigger. I just feel a little cramped (especially when jumping), like I can't stretch my arms out far enough sometimes. At your size, I would suggest the 400. If you are exclusively a woods rider, the 300 might be OK. One thing some people comment on, is that they feel the seat is low and the footpegs high on the 300-like they are riding with their knees too high. I personally have never had this feeling.

I have read more reviews that I can remember on the 300 and 400ex and i KNOW all about them, I just have never experienced either...I don't want a 400EX, even though I know its better (and more expensive)...its narrowed between the 250EX and 300EX...How much of a performance difference do you think there will be between the 250 and 300?

Hey EZErriicc... I had the same dilemma. I was going nuts trying to choose between the 250ex and the 300ex. Now, I don't have your problem, I am really small. But, considering what I have learned in the past few weeks, I would go with the 300ex. I did, and I think I made a great choice.
The 250ex is geared more towards beginning riders, and as soon as you learn how to ride, you will want something with a bit more power. Go with the 300ex, you won't regret it.

Get the 300EX. If you look at the Honda specifications, it is bigger in size. Plus, you will get more low-end torque from a 300cc compared to a 250cc. Personally, I wouldn't consider the 400EX no matter what the price is. A 400cc in a lightweight sport quad? Only if I'm gonna race professionally...
