Default sprocket help

I asked awhile ago about getting a smaller sprocket for the front of my '05 400ex and I was told by a few guys to go one size smaller, so I did. But I ran into a problem the dealer told me stock was a 15 tooth,so i bought a 14 tooth but when I pulled the stock one off it was a 14 so does anybody know what the right stock size sprocket is??

What also happend to the gear ratios in the transmission? I also heard that the newer 400exs were geared for trail riding so the gears are closer, so an overall slower top end than an older stock model. Can anyone confirm this?
