Well... I am not 100% familiar with 4-stroke engines.. I have rebuilt many 2-stroke dirtbike engines in my day which obviously arent as complex as the 4 but now i made the jump over to ATV's.. I had bought a 2000 400ex clean title complete for 600 bucks... needing a crankshaft, top end, and sprockets... now i am thinking about gettin the 440 kit, a stage 2 cam, , and just the hot rods crankshaft.. is this gonna be a hard project for someone like myself ? do you think this would be a good setup for trail and woods riding? any tips...hints... or websites where i can find these parts the cheapest? how about the jetting.. can anyone help me out on where to jet it with the 440 kit? or atleast get me in the ballpark? Thanks in advance

Getting the timing right will be the only new portion. It is very easy so, you should be good.
I want to suggest, since you need a crank, get a stroker. I have a 4mm stroker 440 and it is a killer trail quad. It is a powroll crank with a 2mm over bore piston. I have a Web cam model 450/451 to finish it off. I couldn't think of a better toque package.

is there a website for this crank? price? also... is this gonna be a complicated task.. i am no way in a hurry I wanna do it right.. also while i have the motor apart is it wise to replace anything else? ie: valves, timing chain etc? or is this not necessary (unless there is obvious wear)
