that is the swing arm bolt, and requires only hand tightening to get correct, pull on the rack sidways (side to side) will induce a clanking noise if these bearings are loose, if there is no movement. move on this is not your problem

I just took the plastic and the tire off and adjusted it exactly to specs. I took the carter pin out and centered it on the shift leaver too. It shifts better than it ever has, but the pop is now in the front and then in the back sometimes. I had the valves adjusted several months ago and I asked them to adjust the linkage because it was popping at the linkage or so I thought. After the suzuki dealer adjusted the linkage, is when it started popping toward the rear only.

Now that it is adjusted proper, it is popping toward the front again adn now toward the rear some too. I reckon it has to be in the transmission somewhere. It drives out perfect with plenty of power though.

Can the popping be OK and it is just slop in the transmission or could it be a HUGE problem starting up? Do you think I need to take it to a dealer?
