Need Rubicon tire advice
#1
Hi guys, I've got 1200 miles on my Rubicon and the oringal DirtHook front tires are nearly worn smooth, because about 300 of those miles were on asphalt around town (we're allowed on the roads in our dinky southern Utah towns).
I'm new to ATV'ing this year, and I don't know what I should replace them with. I'd like something that will wear longer this time.
But do I want to put 25" Blackwaters on the original rims, or buy 27" rims and Blackwater XTs (what will that buy me?), or is there a better choice for me (like a more original tread TrailWolf)?
To help: our usage is about 25% putting around town, about 70% is pretty serious rock and dirt trails (Piute/Fremont trail systems), and the other 5% is snow-riding. Very little mudding around here.
Thanks for any input,
Nathan

I see part of my post was stupid. I know we're talking about 12" rims, not 27". But can the 27" XTs be fitted on my original Honda rims, or do I have to buy something like the Magnums? And is it worth it to get the new rims?
Thanks, Nathan
