I recently bought a used 2002 honda 300ex and decided to put a fmf powercore 4 and install a dyno jet kit and when im done i start it up and the engine is idling at far too high of rpm and the header on the pipe is cherry red and in the genral vicinity of the header connector and engine it is smoking. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Oh yeah, smoke was also coming out of the back of the exhaust but I think this is normal/some of the new packing is getting burnt off like usual.

 

you can lower the idle with on of screws on the carb. theirs two you need to turn the bigger screw to the left. what color smoke is coming out the pipe if its black you may need to get the rings checked.
