I have an 02 rubicon that acts and sounds like the gears are slipping when going up hill or hitting the gas pretty good. It only does this after riding for about 2 hours otherwise it rides perfect up till then.

 

You'd better have the oil pressure tested on that bike before you do much more driving ... Those hydrostatic transmissions are quite expensive ..

 

I tripped a trouble code years back with simular wine sounds from the trans after a long hard ride in the sand dunes, removed the neg batt cable for ten minutes and it never did it again. Worth a try... how do you like your mud light xtr's? Im thinking about getting a set of 26's for my stock rubicon, will they rub??? I trail ride more than mud though

 

i like the xtr's but the 27's put quite a load on the 500 Rubicon i usually drive in low on esp mode now and it does great. The 27's did barely rub the black part of the fender extension but i trimmed it with a razor knife and you can't even tell. If you buy bigger rims and tires be careful i put some 27's on mine that were not a deep dish rim in the back and it rubbed my exhaust so try to stick with deep dish .How do you know if you tripped a code,does it come on the screen my screen shows no codes?

 

the quad will lock in 3rd gear in esp mode and flash ESP D1 D2 all at once- I set a "over pressure" code by staying floored in low range in crazy sand dunes for hours hanging with raptors and 450 sport quads [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Made them real jellious when I opened the cooler i had on my back rack [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
