Default Hello, noob here

I just got my first 4wheeler and I'm having problems getting it started. It sounds like it is turning over fine, just wont run. I put in a new plug, check everything to do with fuel delivery, which seems fine, and charged the battery. Every now and then it will backfire. I haven't checked to see if the new plug is fireing though. The guy I got it from said it needed a new piston and rings, but should'nt still run? Thanks to all who can help

Default Hello, noob here

there are 2 caps that u can remove in the side of the case down by the crank on the left side one is in the very center there is a nut in there and u can use it to turn the engine over. remove the spark plug to make it easier and the other cap when removed shows the timing marks. with the plug out use a very long screw driver and put it down in the engine threw the spark plug hole and use it to feel when the piston is at the very top.

if you have anymore ? just write back
