where is oil filter? on 2001 honda rancher anyone help

Right below the dipstick! Rounded cap with three bolts holding it. Be absolutely sure that you get the new filter in the right direction! The black gasket on the filter faces out, and fits over a nipple that is on the cap. Spring is inside to hold gasget tight against nipple.
Don't forget to change out the lube in the differential and final drives as well.

I cringe every time we get one of these "I don't have an owner's manual" posts. If the previous owner doesn't even have the manual...just what kind of attention do you really think they gave to preventative maintenence??? Buyers beware!
