Has it always had this problem?

If you clean the carb and it still has problems it could be that the valves need adjusted and a compression check done but first I would do the simple maintenance like cleaning the filter, changing the plug and make sure the battery is fully charged if you haven't already.

 

Well i have only owned this quad for about 3 months and its pretty much always been a pain to start. Thing is the guy i bought it off of fired it right up no problems and i just can seem to get it at all. Like i said before the only time i can get it to start with the starter is when its been warmed up and i have to pump the gas then it will start. Other then that it will not start at all. The jet that is in it is the one that came with the hrc kit from what he told me and the air lid is off like he said the kit said to do I also just put a brand new spark plug in it. I think this week i will take the carb off and clean it out really good and see if that helps. But i still think the timing is a little advanced becase the exhast sucks in air while its trying to start...

 

Ok So here is my statis on this quad. I took the valve cover off and check out to see if the timing was on. Well I seen that it had a decompression device in it and I started looking at it and noticed that when it should have been opening the valves that it was still loose not opening them. So i tightened that down snug and I turned it over it seemed to help the speed of the starting. Well I have still not go it started but i also have not put the gas tank back on. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know i would really appricate it.
