Hi a friend of mine just bought a used 1985 250 four trax but the guy lost the key

the ignition sw, has a red, blk, green and a blk/wht wires on the switch.
which ones to hard wire to make run and use the starter sw.
does not havve a manual on it yet.

your gonna need to hook the red wire to the black wire.

I figured that out, but thanks for the reply.

now I have tried to order another key, but the numbers on the ign. sw. did not help.
any info as to how to get another made , ? either by a vin 3 or?

Man I don't really have much experience getting replacement keys so I really can't help you there. I do have a used honda ignition key and switch which should be a direct replacement, if your intrested.

take ignition switch top a locksmith and they will make you a key for it

 

they can make a key off the ignition, might have to take the quad in for them to get it right though

 

The key number is on the side of the ignition switch ..
