Default Need a Carb

I am going to start looking for a carb for a 1986 Honda TRX 250..
So if anyone has one or knows of one let me know
Thx Ron

Well it loosened up the butterfly throttle enuf to get it off.. BUT !!! dont think this carb is going to make it.. The butterfly throttle still has to be turned with a pair of pliers and the started valve is frozen in its little cubby hole.. The brass thing broke removing it. The started valve is still stuck in the cubby hole.. Dont look good..
So if ya know of a carb sittin in your junk pile let me know .. OK?? Thx for the help

Try ebay, you might have to keep checking, but they show up.

Default Need a Carb

Well I have purchased some PB Blaster and a gallon can for cleaning carbs.. I have soaked for a day and I can now move the butterfly throttle with my fingers it still is stiff to rotate but progress is being made. I am going to keep soak it til it is nice and free..
The next problem is getting the choke (starter valve) out of its hole. It broke when I removed the carb.. I was thinkin of drillig a small hole in it and putting in a small screww to aid in removing it if the carb cleaner does not free it.. Any other ideas???
THX ROn

Default Need a Carb

After 4 days of soaking in the carb cleaning solution the throttle mechanism is working perfectly now.. Nice and free. The wrap spring snaps it back closed every time..
So on to gettin the choke valve out..
The connector things are broken and might have to drill it out.. Anyone have one in there junk pile??
Merry Xmas
Ron
