ESP Disagreement
#1
I was reading 4-Wheel ATV Action's review of the 2001 Rancher 4X4 ES and they say the ESP goes out when the battery goes out, but Connection's review says it's not battery dependant and it runs when the motor runs. I own a Rancher ES and this is a concern to me. Does anyone know the real story?

I left my switch on (yeah, I know, real smart move) and came back to a dead battery. Used the manual gear shift to get back to neutral, then hand cranked it.
I could get maybe one or two ESP shifts, then nothing else until I got a good charge back on the battery.
Just sitting at idle speed didn't do it. Running around with high revs in low gear pretty soon gave me enough juice for the shifter to work right again.
Hope this helps.

I just bought a 2001 FourTrax 350FE1(Rancher ES 4x4)and the way I read it was that when the key was off the ESP was off.The only way I shut my Quad off is with the key,not the kill switch. Its far too easy to forget to turn the key off by doing it that way.
