recon es froze rear end HELP!!!!
I don't understand your post, you seemed to have a problem with your rear end and asked for help in finding out what the problem might be and a solution to it and your response seems to be that you think flushing it out would be a waste of money. Well, if thats the case why did you come on here and ask for help, you must already know what the problem is???
Like Reconranger said, if $2.00 is too much of an investment, leave it like it is.

recon es froze rear end HELP!!!!
Yes it could be water in the rear end or water getting in through a vent line , or by the rear brake drum ; or even in by way of a wheel bearing seal anything stated above could cause a freezing or seaizing locking up the rear end !
If it's a brake problem water / dirt and rust and freezing water could lock up the rear brake ; and have to same effect's as the rear end seazing !
If it's the rear gear's in the axle or rear differencial , if water has gotten in it will have to be drained and flushed out with either kerosine or Acetone to flush and dry out the rearend before filling SAE 80w 90 hypoid gear oil ; and then pray it hasn't gone to long for permanate damage ! ............
