I have the 2007 Rancher 420 and bought a Warn winch RT 2.5.Unfortunately i cant get in to fit in the right way.the only way it would work is if i grinded some of the bumper.I got the right mount but it seems the notch on the winch casing is sticking up too far>am i missing something? Thanks JIM

 

from what ive herd it doesnt fit......but than ive seen people who say thats what they have.

i ordered a warn 1.5 and there mounting plate and everything fit great.......the 1.5 isnt as fast as the others but it will anything

im sure others know more than me.........did you get the synth cable.

 

On my Foreman the winch fits tight agaist the bottom of the headlight bucket.

Are you using a Warn mount plate?

If so, give Warn a call. I've found they have good customer service, and they can probably help you out.

 

I believe its the aluminum cable.

 

Also I am using the Warn Mounting Plate.But I emailed Warn and they will be out of the office till after the New Year

 

What happens if you installl the winch on the other side of the plate ?

it takes time if youve never installed one.......try it diffrents ways and take your time

 

also check warns website they have all the dimention for each winch the 2.5 is 8lbs heavier and a lot bigger than the 1.5

 

The plate is flat but it also has two tabs that curve inward.If i flip it over they will stick out the front.Im know my stuff mechanically just not Winch and Atv stuff like this.I appreciate all your responses.

 

Out of curiosity do the directions have you take the front bumper assembly off, put the winch and mount plate on bumper subframe, then put the whole thing back on the quad?
