Honda recon stalling help
Hello I have a 04 honda recon manual 250. I have a problem. If i go up a long steady hill that bumpy it stays out just like it runs out of fuel. when I go to start it I have to choke it. If I pull a wheelie and set the front end down it will stall out like it runs out of fuel. I have to choke it to get it started.Besides that it runs fine. I removed the carb adn cheacked the float and needle,it was fine. Could it be the float vavle??

Honda recon stalling help
On this bike there not a float adjustment.I checked it with a ruler and it was in spec. It didn't stick etc kinda puzzled lol it runs out of fuel for sure I have to choke it to get it started after stalled. It's runs fine just doesn't like wheelies or hills lol/ I think it's the float vavle. I know some bikes you can adjust the float but I think the float vavle is kinda like the adjustment. I order one to give it a shot.

vent line
there is one vent line that goes from the left side of the carb under the tank and goes in to a hose holder on the steering stem in front of the gas tank. first try blowing through it, if no air or a small portion of air goes through it then pull it off and clean it out.mine was pluged up all the way, cleaned it and vala run like a new bike.

Every recon will drop fuel from the overflow when riding a wheelie
Make sure the baffle is in place around the main jet
The breather hose tip is a good one
Also, in some situations the side of the float valve may be worn enough to allow the float valve to wedge itself in the closed position. This may be what is happening on an incline
Also make sure the slow jet (pilot) is not restricted
