any superwinch fans?

I for one, taking TreeFarmers suggestion, and cost considered bought a T1500 and installed it to my Rancher.
I did expereince a problem with the switch, but Jack Jolly never questioned my complaints and immediatly sent me a new one with a boot. Goes a long way to making a great impression to this consumer.
I believe that either will work well and problems are inevitable on either at the same time.
IMHO, mounting location is as key as the unit you install. Please correct me if I am wrong. Feel free to check out my pics in my yahoo briefcase.

tree farmer,
at the time you write this i didnt have a winch. last night i bought a superwinch 1500. i have some in store credit so it only ran me about 40$ so i figured for 40 bucks i will take a chance! this model has a yellow rocker switch. the switch doesnt look very durable, so maybe it is an old model?? thanks

The newer models, I think, have a two-piece rubberish dust cover for the switch, orange top and black bottom. Howver, the boot may just be an add-on (covering the yellow rocker) dressing up the ATV2000 package.
In any case, the switch, new or old, is guaranteed by Superwinch.
Read and follow your user manual (e.g,, always spool in under line tension when you can) and the Superwinch should take care of you. Rig up at least a hawse fairlead (metal plate with slot to keep the cable straight, if the T1500 doesn't have one); I strongly recommend a ****** block.
Good luck!

i wrote jack at superwinch an email but it couldnt be delivered! is this right..jack@superwinch.com ??? or do i include /860??? im sure my switch is old so i hope i can find a new one or a t least a better replacemant. i have a 500 scrambler and im not sure where i am gonna put the winch yet? i thought about just make a bracket and bold it right on the top of the bumper just below the plastic. i also thought about extending the original bumper a few inches and tuck it behind that. i also saw the pics in the newe polaris catalog and they make a nice kit to put a new bumper on. i work in a machine fab. shop so i also thought about amkeing one of those. but then that would be more weight and i couldnt use any skidplates unless i made my own. i have to think about it i guess cuz i dont want to mount the winch too high or too low. and it would be nice to remove it when i want but then i have to put wire connectors on and that could cause more problems! well i will think about it i guess!! thanks for your help!! ryan

we have a quality farm and country store close by and i have seen them advertise the superwinch 1500 for as little as $129.00. if i get the money together, i will get one for my honda 300 4wd. i've heard good things about it, but you can't expect to get a warn quality winch at these prices.
