Fourtrax 300 - rear noise!
#1
Hi - I'm new to the forum...
I have a 98 Fourtrax 300 - I'm getting a horrible noise in the back, like a whining scraping noise, when I turn the ATV - going forwards or backwards. I straighten it out and it stops... Could it be the bearing getting sloppy, causing the brake drum to hit the pads awkward? Anyone ever experience this?
Thanks!

this jsut happened to my 400 ex, it was the bearings, somehow the seal came out and the bearings broke, just look at the axle where it goes into the housing and see if anything looks abnormal, if it makes noise when it turns and not when going staight, this could be the problem because the different speeds of the tires in a turn force the axle to push against on side of the housing and if it isnt eqaul or set correctly it will make noise
