I am testing my electrical system and the clymer service manual calls for the use of a peak voltage adapter. This is the one from the manual-

Kowa tools says this adapter works with "commercial multimeters with a minimum impedance of 10 M ohms/DCV". Is this the internal impedence of the multimeter itself? Is pretty much any multimeter going to work, or do I need a special one?

I think it has to do with the sensitivity of the meter, and internal impedance. I think almost all digital, voltmeters should work. Analog, or needle and scale types probably wont.

 

Thanks for the reply hondabuster! I picked up a run of the mill multimeter from a guy that does car audio and I think it'll be fine. If I find a bad component I'll know for sure! Thanks again for the help! This forum has great people in it.
