Default TIE ROD

From what my brother has told me it was just from this certain batch no. of part's that were defective , and not all of the quads from 04' and 05' mdel's ; that were recalled weren't defective but they replaced them anyway !

And from the batch no. of the bad tie rod's that were recalled the local Honda Dealership that my brother bought his 2004 Rancher found some of the defective tie rod's in the bach no. that were recalled by Honda were showing up on some 2002 through 2006 model's , his Dealership's machanic told him they were checking all 2002' through 2006' model's !

They were looking for these model's of a certain manufacture date with the batch no. of the defective part's , even though they weren't on the list Honda had recalled ; but not all Dealer's are checking 2002' through 2006' of the Rancher models !

As far anyone know's these other year model's aren't being checked by other Dealer's just the Local DealerShip in our township of North Ga. in whitfield county , and the Dealership has been sold once since my brother bought his 2004 Honda TRX350FM Rancher fulltime 4x4 which was on the recall list the Factory sent out to the Dealership's !

So both of the tie rod's of your quad (on both side's ) should be replaced under the recall , and if the Dealership where you bought the 2006 Rancher in question that hit the bump doesn't replace the tie rod's on both side's of your quad under this recall ; i would get the phone number of the Honda Headquarter's , and talk to the Manager or Sale's Represenative about the tie rod seperation !

Then maybe you should mention the safety issue of the tie rod coming apart when you hit the bump , i've seen quad's of all brand's that have hit bump's and good sized rock's in mountainous trail's that have hit these rock's and big bump's hard enough to bend wheel's and frame's with out the tie rod's coming apart or breaking ; even bending the tie rod's themselves without having then seperate the way the defective tie rod's do !

I'm sure Honda would replace all the tie rod's on both side's of your Rancher instead of having a law suit on their hand's , even though they keep lawyers on retainer's permanently ; so you wouldn't even have to tell them you were thinking about calling a lawyer or mention a lawsuit just that you could've been killed !

And since your Dealer didn't tell you about a recall on tie rod's of any of the Honda TRX350 Rancher model's , and that a member on the ATV Connection Magazine forums , had to tell you about the recall of these defective tie rod's who's dealership were replacing all the 2002' through 2006 Rancher Model's even though not all the year models they were inspecting and replacing these tie rod's that could've been defective causing them to seperate endangering the live's of their customer's !

They didn't find all the defective batch no. of these tie rod's , and there's no telling how many ridier's are still riding the afected quad's that have no idea that every ride they take they're taking the chanch of being killed ; some that have been sold by the original owner's to private parties that have no idea of the recall !

I would be all over my Dealer for the replacement of the tie rod's on any Rancher made from 2002 through 2006 year model's , before i would take a chanch on having one or more of these tie rod's coming apart or breaking ; while i was riding even on flat trail's that were smooth because some did just that before the recall was issued !

If anything like this happened to one of the quad's my Dealership sell's they would get in touch with all their customer's before the manufacturer knew what hit them , they would have a discussion with a sales rep before anyone got hurt ; so rhonda350 i would be all over the Dealer for not telling me of something that could've kill me so easy as this could've happened to you ! ............
