The front right drive axle on my 88 fourtrax is "done". The shaft just basically "sits" in the outer joint. You can grab hold of it and rattle it around. The inner joint seems to be fine. I believe that the outer joint is beyond repairing with a joint rebuilding kit since it has just been spinning in the joint now for a few years without actualy being connected. My question is. I've seen complete cv shafts with both joints and i've seen half shafts that look like they only come with the outer joint and the shaft. What would be the best way to go to fix this? Thanks

 

Think i'm going to go with the half shaft with the outer joint. My understanding is that you have to take inner joint off the old shaft and install it on the new shaft. Anyone know how to walk me through taking the joint apart?
