I am looking to get a new ATV in the coming months but wanted to get some feedback on the Rancher 420 2wd. The only other avt i am looking to get is a yamaha big bear.
Uses will be typical of the average deer hunter, im really wanting a reliable machine and a smooth ride.
I may also do a small amount of plowing with a atv disc but not alot!!
any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I got the Rancher out for a little spin today. My last machine was an Outlander 400 and the first thing I noticed was that this machine feels very different. Very nimble. The handling far outdoes the outty. The ride is rougher but that is to be expected without IRS. The Rancher feels MUCH lighter than the outty and turns much easier. Power I would have to give to the Rancher though the outty is faster on top. The Rancher just zips through the gears and I was only using 3/4 throttle. I am quite happy with my purchase so far.
Pics as promised. Sorry they didn't turn out too great. My camera was in the wrong mode, the atv was in direct afternoon sun, and I had just waxed the plastic (trick of my Dad's) which made it all streaky looking.

I bought a 2006 400 Rancher es 4x4, really was looking at just a 2wd, but I waterfowl hunt and deer hunt, and my buddies told me to go with the 4x4.
I went with the 4x4 and really glad I did. Mine was a brand new model with zero miles, so I went a lttle extra with the 4x4 and love it.
If you can afford it, go with the 4x4.
