420 rear spring help
#1
Unlike my old Yamaha the rear shock on my 07 Honda 420 is not adjustable and feel it's tad too soft. I'm a big guy and do most of my riding on gravel or improved dirt roads. I'd like to stiffen up the rear spring a bit to compensate for my larger girth but I'm not quite ready to jump into a set of new lift springs.
Is there a commercially available spring spacer or can I fabricate something that will keep the spring from compressing easily?

Moose makes a spring wedge kit. It twists into the springs. I put a set in the front of my 450es so the front would not sag with the snow plow on.
Here is a link where I found them spring wedgas It may be what you are looking for. Easy to install

I installed mine in the middle of the spring then spun them down into the tighter end of the coils, works sweet

Good tip, I would have never thought of doing that. Thanks!

How much did the springs lift the front of your quad with the plow off ? I think my springs are sagged. Might look into the highlifters
