I'm going with the Lectron. There only $250 and my engine builder has used all 3 carbs and he says to go with the Lectron. So thats what I'm going with.

i would suggest an lectron carb to anyone i have an 88 stroked, ported, and polished 250r with an 40 mm lectron.that i race harescrambles with.and i havent had a problem with it yet.but the only problem is that i have to run with a vented or no airbox lid because its such a big carb and it wont run with a normal lid.so im told.the guy i bought the bike off of said it wouldnt run with lid and the mechanic at the local bike shop said there was nothin i could do except try to vent the lid and i did and it worked

All I gotta say is good luck on snappy throttle response. You will loose it with the Lectron, because it has no pump. Your stock carb has a pump on it from the factory.

You don't even know what you are talking about.

I have a Lectron carb on my 426EX and it has way more throttle response then the stock carb.
Your carb is only good for top end power, the smaller 36mm Lectron is for bottom end and midrange. Talk to TC racing if you disagree, he said he would match the Lectron against the quicksilver anyday. If you you read old posts about the quicksilver, you would realize they are junk!

This is all brand bias anyways. Kind of sounds like the gearhead guys arguing about Holleys vs. Edelbrock vs. Carter. Well I'll tell you what. Sometimes carbs seem to need some fine tuning to work 100% good. If you don't want to put the time in to fine tune, then you will be dissapointed. One of my friends has a Lectron on his 400ex and it works real nice. Another friend is ordering the smaller size Edelbrock. I'll let you know what I think when I ride it.

Good answer Stroker! I have'nt called any other brand junk because I have'nt used them. In my book it's all good until it shows me otherwise. I posted my findings here because I have seen the big questions concerning the QwikSilver and how it performs. I gave you my answer and some you think I'm full of crap. Another fine example of the QwikSilver performance. My neighbor bought one for his XR400 after he saw how well my TRX ran. He is stoked! And for the guy saying the QwikSIlver is only good for mid to top because it is too big. It's a 36mm bro.

THE ONLY REAL WAY TO FIND OUT IS A SHOOTOUT. EVERYONE WILL TELL YOU THAT THIS OR THAT IS THE BEST BECAUSE IF THEY DON'T SELL THEM THEN THERES NO PROFIT FOR THEM. DIRT WHEELS NEEDS TO START DOING SOME SHOOT OUTS ON EXAUST AND CARB. I THINK THEY ARE SCARED ON LOOSING SPONSERS THOUGH.

I reason I stated it was a top end carb, was I thought you bought the 39mm, that's the one everyone else has.
