I have the chance to buy a atc 250r for 700 obo. It comes with a part bike also. I would like to ride it a little then fix it up and sell to make some profit. What do u think. I am buying some other sutff from him so he might give me a really good deal. What should i look for in the bike i havnt looked at it yet. What sounds should i listen for to see if it new a rebuild?

What year is it? If it's an 85 or 86 it might be worth something.

There is no profit.
All the parts for them are available from your Honda dealer. I rebuilt my '85 and was even able to get stickers for it from the dealer.
Do it to have a cool trike, there is no profit in rebuilding them, trust me.

Is it an Elsinore? If it is it would be worth more than an 83-84. The water cooled ones sre great too. If you ask me it sounds like a good deal. A parts bike and a project. I would go for it but that may just be cause I grew up on them and still have them. Hope this helps

The guy said it was an 86. I thought they did not make them that year but aparently they do. I would love to have this as a dune bike. Around my area at pismo these bike seem to go for 1100 or more.I think i mihgt get ti even cheaper because we are buying a trialor from this guy for 400 and my dad was going to offer 1k for everything
