I don't think anyone took your comment personally, it's just somthing that I had never heard of as a problem on the rancher.
I'm sure if I person either failed to service the filter, installed it wrong, or failed to reoil it properly, they'd promptly end up with a Rancher that needs a rebore (as with any other machine).

First I heard of that issue as well. Before I purchased my atv in July I did a ton of research. The only problem I found online with the rancher is backfiring, nothing at all with the issue listed above.... No issues on mine yet. I love the machine

One great machine - for work or play. I use it hard for all the ranch work and have fun while doing it. Not a thing to complain about. Snappy throtle response and it's great that it is liquid cooled. A lot of times I have to let it idle for long periods while I load hay or load poop in the manuer spreader. Always stays cool. Sometimes I disonnect all the implements and open 'er up. It was really fun this winter with all the snow. Great low COG. It never feels tippy or top heavy. Can't wait to get it out on the trail this spring. I don't think you'd ever be sorry choosing this machine. Oh, I have the ES 4X4 model and love it.
