I put new centrifugal clutch weights in a 420 a week or so ago.. I didn't read all these threads (to damn much reading) did they have the clutch cover off..?.. If they did why didn't they see/check the clutch while it was off..?..

They had all the cases split so im assuming they checked them.
They told me clutch parts were fine ,but I told them to put new clutches in anyway.
Had I known there was other related parts I would have had them do those to so I could avoid all this extended down time.
Gimpster, my guess is the dirt ,and sand that got in my engine caused them to wear?
There probably is no issues with the majority of them.

I got it back a few mins ago.
They installed a new cylinder, and piston.
Seems to be runing fine.
I know before I originally took it in the original motor was smoking EXTREMELY bad ,and I assume lots of oil got into the exhaust.
Now with the new cylinder ,and piston,
If I go wot just for a sec in neautral it looks like its blowing just a touch of smoke ,but its hard to tell.
Ive put maybe half a mile on it.
Is it safe to assume there is still some oily residue in the exhaust ,and that may be the smoke im seeing?
They told me the reason the original rebuild had problems was that some metal was left behind, and that destroyed the piston ,and cylinder.
They said they completely dissasembled the motor again ,and cleaned everything along with installing the new clutch ,and cylinder parts.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks.
