They can be found at most auto supply stores, some have a nice spring hinged cover with a gasket for wet locations. Most come with wiring, some dont. To wire one up, the posative wire goes to the center pin of the plug and directly to the battery. Make sure to install a fuse on this wire if using 12awg wire use a 20 amp fuse. The other connection can go directly to ground or to the negative battery terminal and should also be 12awg. Last step is to find a sutible mounting place.

I put one one my 420 on the left side just below the handle bar. I have run my GPS, 12v air compressor, cell phone charger off of it. Very convienent. (not at the same time) Got mine at an advanced auto parts store. Honda has one on the Rincon, so you can get one from them, but a little more pricey.

As far as the 12v accessory plug, you can buy one from Honda and install it on the front rack or through the body just below the handlebar. If you buy one from honda, there is a plug above the right front tire (if your're sitting on the atv) that is attached beside the radiator. All you have to do is plug the outlet into that water proof plug and your're all set. I think the outlet and every thing is about 40.00. Expensive, but worth it. I installed one a while back and was fairly simple except of the cutting a whole in the body with a hole saw. I have pictures on my profile if you want to take a look. I considered the automotive type but I wanted it to look a little more "factory."

The outlet I purchased from came with a mount to mount it to the front rack. However, I didn't like the idea of having exposed wires or having to concern myself with the possibility of anything I store on the front storage rack prohibiting the use of the outlet.

Guys thanks so much. I never even thought of putting this on my rancher until now. I think I'll get it from Honda and install in the summer. I can see many great uses with this plug in.

Sorry for the late comment on this. My 96 foreman came with a cigarette plug with it, and it was from an auto store. They just had it connected to the battery, but if it would short i didnt want to fry the wiring. I just congifured the wire ends to the plug for the accessory plug input. This way it went through the factory fuses and didnt have to install any other fuse box. The accessory plug im talking about is the one near the fron end. It is the same one that the expensive factory ones connect to.

I had one on my bruin, I just hooked it up w/ a inline fuse and connected it to my winch solenoid under the seat. I only used it for a min air compressor for the plug lites I was running.

$5 or so at wal mart, it had the spring cover so it was always shut.
