Hey Ranchers owners
How often does your fan kick on when riding? I went riding on sunday and i was riding with a 450s and his fan kicked on several times throughout the day and mine never kicked on once. Does ours run cooler than the 450 or what do you think. I mean i know it wokrs but it just never came on that day.

TIA

Jay

My fan has always come at some point during every ride I've ever taken, and this includes some cold weather days.

It really depends on what type of riding you do. If you are in water all day long, then the fan will not come on. If it is 100 degrees outside and you are trail riding then the fan will come on.

Mine has come on both in the winter and summer. Usually it is when the atv is "working hard" in a lower gear and is not traveling fast. This has occured during slow, uphill climbs in the summer, as well as snowplowing in the winter.

I did notice every time the fan did come on, it was only for a short period.

And note, there have been other posts on cooling fans in this forumn. Just search to find them

Hope this helps...

Mine has only kick on twice. Once in the summer and once in the Fall. In both situations I was in second gear for an extended period of time and pulling a load.

When it did kick on it startled me and sprayed me with the mud caught in the fan housing.

I seem to notice the fan kicking on when we are doing slow or technical trail riding. When we are ripping on the fire roads, I never really notice the running.

I guess it really depends on what type of riding you do + the temperature outside.

I don't think the fan runs excessively.
