How about you put your tank of a scrambler up against my friend's 89' 250R With a 397cc FTZ racing cylinder, alcohol burning, 87hp(true), I just had to tell everyone about it. Its baaaaaad!

 

I don't know what kind of 400EX you have been racing or who was driving but no 400Express will outrun an EX. As far as woods riding and trail riding I guess you have never heard of the GNCC. The GNCC is woods racing at its best. Take a look if you get a chance and see and see where Polaris finishes??? Take for Example one of the Largest Races in the GNCC is Loretta Lynns. Here is the outcome of the top riders in each class. The clas Polaris runs in is the Utility Unlimited it is full of nothing but Scramblers and Sprots the fastest Polaris did 4 laps in 2hrs 6 mins and 58 seconds. In that class there are some real tricked out Polaris's and I am not knocking them just stating the facts for you. At Loretta Lynn's if you would have ran a 2:06 58 in the four stroke mod class which is 97% 400EX's you would have finished 18th!!!! So the fastest Polaris could only must up an 18th in the class with all the 400EX!!! The four stroke Stock class that is full of 400EX,300EX and Warriors is much faster than the Polaris class a 2:06 58 would not even land you in the top 15 in that class. The Pros ride nothing but 250R's, Banshees and 400EX not one pro rides a Polaris. The Pros on can do five laps in less time than the fastest Polaris can do four that mean they get lapped. A lap in the GNCC is not a few seconds it is alot of Miles most of the laps range between 8 to 12 miles. So numbers don't lie and please get your facts straight. Meet me at the GNCC and see if you can keep up with my 400EX.

 

To answer the original post, the 400ex would spank the scrambler 500.

To answer the polaris is junk post, yes I believe Polaris lacks major quality and are pieces of junk. I own 2 and have had 4 plus a few of my friends scramblers. I worked at a polaris/yam dealership last summer. Polaris atv's always require too much maint. and break very often. Mine break every trip now. I am sick of them. I worked on hundreds at the dealership where I was like why in the world would somebody put such crappy parts on these things. I don't care what you say, nothing can convince me that polaris isn't junk I own them and I service them. I KNOW!


I am proudly about to buy a 400ex this weekend! No more maint. out the butt! Hope going Honda will be a better time.
