20x11-9 or 22x11-9?
I have a 1997 300ex and I need to decide what size tire I want. Stock tire size for the 300ex is a 22x11-9, but I know the 400ex runs the 20x11-9. What do you guys think? I'm looking to purchase the Maxxis Razr's because I currently have those in the front. Let me know please...thanks!!

Yeah, I can tell the difference. But as far as performance and everything else goes what do you suggest? I currently have it rejetted with a WB pipe, and a new air filter. But that's about it. My last set of tires were the Pure Sport Realtors which are basically paddles and they were 22 and they seemed huge...

Just because they say 22, not all 22's (or 20's for that matter) are exactly 22" including the tread. They all vary depending on how the manufacturer measures their tires. Performance wise, you'll get a little more torque out of the smaller tires since they'll turnover faster, but you'll give up a little top speed.

I have run both Holeshot XC's (22" front/20" rear) and XCT's (23" front/22" rear). The XCT's are nice because they increase ground clearance, but you lose bottom end power because the effective gearing is raised (but a change in gearing can fix that). The XC's are nice because it just handles better (lower center of gravity) and the steering is quicker.
Personally, on the little EX I would go with the XC's, and give up a little ground clearance for a little more low end power and better handling.
