Default 400EX Trouble HELP!

I have a 2002 400EX and it doesn't want to start all the time. I was riding it today and I turned it off and got back on it and it didn't turn over or do anything when I pushed the button, so I kept pushing it and it started and then i turned it off to seei f it would do that again and it did. Would it be a bad connection? battery? starter?
Please help me out.
Thanks,
Dan

Id check the connetions at the battery terminals, see that they are corrosion free, and snug. If thats ok, then have the battery load tested. Its done for free at any auto parts stores, like napa or auto zone.

I don't think the battery is bad because the neutral light is bright as can be.

Default 400EX Trouble HELP!

I recently went through a similar situation. It would not start with the button. When the start button was depressed, nothing happend, not click, no starting, nothing... aslo the netural light woudl not come on.

After checking, I found the wire next to the gear selector has come off. Simplely reconnected the wire, the neutral light came on, and the bike fired with the start button.

check the simple things 1st.
