hey i was woundering if ne body would know what wrong with my quad . i have a 99 honda forman 450 es and the electric shift doesnt work ne more . it started acting up about 3 month ago . it stop working and then i would shut off the quad for 20 min and it would start working again but now it doesnt work at all even after sitting for a couple day . hope someone know the problem

 

Start by checking the battery . You might need to take it to an auto parts store for a load test. If its good, do a clutch adjustment, and see if it improves.
Will it shift with the emergency handle?

 

yes it does shift with emergency handle..gonna try the battery and clutch udjustment .....maybe the shifter motor????

 

I think its improtatnt to have a good strong battery for the system to work properly or at all. If its a '99 and the original battery I'd say its probably due for a replacement. If that fails there is a diagnostic check you can make, the service manual has the instructions for that, maybe somone here can fill in that info here.

 

Could be a lazy shift control motor ..

 

It may be your angle sensor
