I think some of you are missing the point. If your in the market for a new axle, and say it cost's $400.00. Join the Full Throttle Club for $20.00, get a hat and a couple stickers. Then click on the Terry Racing link and get $40.00 off your order!
As for the forums, can you say LESS KIDDIES!!
Make's sense to me, hope it does to others.

I am grateful for this site. I have been coming here for a couple years. I know it takes a lot of work to run something like this for "free". I guess I didn't read all the way through the entire FTC letter. I am not sure if they are going to start charging to use this forum. I hope not. This site is extremely well put together, it has grown into something worthwhile on the internet. But, I am not addicted to it. I can quit any time...

Some people around here expect way too much I think. I feel some think this site is a God given right or whatever, and don't realize somebody is working very hard to make it as cool as it is.

As grateful as I am, I am not willing to "subscribe" to the FTC. As I see it that is my choice, not the Connections. There is nothing to bitch about. They offered a service, I can buy it or not... I don't see what whining is all about. Why is this being so rudely discussed?

I wasnt about to post back on this topic but I feel that i have all the right to post my opinion as does everyone else.

While most of you that think I am an idiot or "ignorant" according to Dave, I have been in and around retail all my life. If Dave is so busy w/ the site and there are problems else where why add to it until you get the problems fixed first?
While I too am very greatfull for this site, I feel that my post was deleted because someone didnt like what i had to say.
I have been coming here for the last 6+ years if not longer. While many of you think that I do not contribute to this forum, your wrong. I have become very selective of what I post about. I chatted w/ dave tonight in the chat room for a few minutes..... while I know he is far from happy w/ my comments I too dislike him calling me ignorant when he knows nothing about me. Nor does he see things from my side of the fence. He also feels that I have been persuaded by other people to say what I said.(no names will be mentioned so dont ask) He is very wrong. While that makes me look worse I will still stand behind my words.

TRX430ex;
I never once started bitching, I just stated my opinion. I dont see you offering any great advise to this forum either. I am not trying to start a war w/ anyone here. My last post on this subject was taken right off the server since I struck a cord w/ Dave. I just feel that Dave has a full plate now and he hasnt fixed the problems that he knows about.... So he will add to his plate and leave the minor problems to sit until he has time..

So to end all of this BS.. I will be joining the FTC to "support" this site. If I dont see anything to support the fee, I will not renew my subscription. I will never purchase from any of the vendors but thats MY CHOICE! I just hope that things will be better and these forums can get away from the bitching.

My sol judgment of you is not one of an “idiot” perhaps disgruntled may best describe you from where I stand. You seem to have a knack for pushing peoples buttons!! In an abrasive kind of way.

I too could push these buttons, deeper and more about certain quirks around the site,, But the difference between you and I is, that I choose not to! The administrators know where the bugs are and I do not wish to throw salt in the wounds. Hell I’m a bug hunter around here and do my best to find them early so they can be put on the list to be fixed.

Too be continued,, I have to go to work.

I run a high traffic website (about 10,000 hits a day) I received the same response when i started a club. It was 30$ for a tshirt, stickers, membership card etc. Many ppl freaked out demanding that all access be free. Some ppl dont realize how much is involved in running a large site.

Greetings,

I can't speak for the value of the Club (too early), but I joined to support the site. The Internet is full of "free" sites but you would have to look pretty far to find one that delivers what this one does.

I did a quick survey of other ATV sites this week and, by comparison, the other forums are generally a mess. I don't know who would bother with most of them. You can come in here and get straight answers to almost any question and have some fun along with it -- and for the most part avoid the worst sorts of stuff that cross the web.

And what's amazing about this forum is the quality of discourse delivered by a generally young pool of particpants. I know, I know -- youth doesn't mean stupid, but it can mean immaturity and you don't have to look beyond the other web sites to see it. Check out the "Age" topic on this forum -- its amazing how few of the participants are over 20, or even over 16 (the age posted on that sticker that came on your ATV). There are exceptions to be sure, but a new reader would never guess the demographics of this site given the quality of the discussion.

I suspect no one likes the pop-up ads, but I hope they bring in the revenue needed to keep this site going. I have met some of the people from the Connection and they are good guys trying to make a go of this while dealing with the same types of problems any of us face in our jobs.

And as for the 20 bucks, the hat (which looks pretty cool to me) and stickers absorb most of that (I think DirtWheels sells stickers for nearly $2 each). Then add in what you've saved by asking for help on the forum. Consider the guy who tells you to check the "kill-switch" before hauling your quad into the shop, helps you find a new riding area, or keeps you from getting the wrong muffler/tire/jet/etc. Add it up -- how much have you gained?

End of screed. Now go join the club.
