My throttle lever has to much play in it is there any way you can adjust it so that as soon as you hit the lever its ready to go because right now it moves about and inch before it starts gassing it up

On the back side of the thumb throttle housing should be a lock nut on a collar on the cable, take the free play out with that . Dont tighten it up so there is no free play, there needs to be some.

Check cable slack with the bars turned both directions before riding. I've seen dozens of ATVs have a mind of their own.
Fire up the engine in neautral, adjust a little and turn the bars. Some quads are affected by front suspension as well, so you can figure out the drill from there. Once you find the limit, back it off a bit and go ride. Forget factory specifications as they are only good when the unit is brand new even if you are using a brand new cable.

well if you open up the throttle box deal, ubove the throttle lever there will be your throttle cable and you can adjust it just like your brake or clutch cables.
