Stick with 416EX or upgrade to 440EX????
#1
I just blew my motor in a race Sunday so it is going to need work anyway and I wondered what opinions you all have on the 440 versus the 416 and if it is worth the upgrade. I mainly just race anymore and my competitors are mostly on modded 450's so I do get outmotored on the straight-aways, but I am sure I still would with a 440.
Any input as to the pros and cons of upgrading? Thanks in advance!!

Reliability is a concern with the 440 kit, and you'll most likely be overheating if you don't upgrade to a better cooling system. The 440 would be much better suited for racing since you'll be able to get a better pull out of the turns coming onto the straights and off the hole shot.

on of my 400s is a 416. letme tell you, its a bad maama jaama!!!! i had a 400 that was built right, but never put out like my 416 or 426! give it a lot of fire, a super big cam, and a nice high compression piston. you should dominate!!
good luck!!!
good luck!!!
