honda rubicon 500 transmission vs. rincopn transmission?
I just recently bought a 2005 honda rincon 650. I paid $4000 for it. I bought it because I thought it would have a bit more towing power then my 450, but it didn't. I couldn't stand the transmission. So I sold it the week after I bought it for $4700 Now I'm looking at the new rubicons. Haven't actually looked yet just getting info about them. I was wondering is the auto tranny in them anything like the rincon? I hated the tranny in the 05 rincon. It didn't have any low-end ***** to it at all. So I am hoping It has more than 3 gears. Do they make a electric, or foot shift model of the rubicon? Give me any info about the rubicons. Thanks

Where the Rincon is an automotive type 3 speed with a torque converter, the Rubicon is a continually variable hydrostat driven auto, with a low range. It can function in full auto mode, or if you prefer it can emulate a geared transmission by letting you select through 5 preset ratios with an up and down button. The Foreman, on the other hand, is an actual 5 speed geared transmission with auto clutch, which comes in foot shift or optional electric push button shift.
The Rubicon is much better suited at low speed high torque type tasks, like plowing and dragging impliments, than the Rincon. The Foreman also works well in those situations.
Between the Rubicon and Foreman, I'd go Rubicon if you prefer an auto, and the Foreman if you enjoy having a foot shift (or want power steering).
