LRD was not in the shootout. The White bros and ct were the best and only gained 1 hp at peak. The stock had 26.9 peak hp. The white bros and ct pipes with a k&n filter and 155 mj it was 27.9.
HP at 4000rpm was 13 stock and the top 2 pipes for that were the ct with 16.3 and the pro circut with 15.9
Go buy the magazine its a good issue. Quadfather got a letter printed in it!

I called LRD and asked them about their pipe. He said that the next issue of ATV Sport there is a major full exhaust shootout, and the LRD ranks #2.
The best pipe is the white bros pro meg complete, but he couldn't remember the rest of them. He said that he thinks white bros did a big pay off on ATV Sport to get the #1 award.
For the guy who wants to get rid of his LRD system for a CT, there is know way a slip on could compare to a complete system, the LRD pipe is probably in the top 3 of all 400EX pipes.
If you are looking into pipes, you have to look in the long run, if you are planning to build your engine at all, most of the brands out there will restrict flow. I personally think these are the best pipes for the 400EX: LRD,Curtis Sparks X-6,DMC,GT Thunder, and the white bros. These are all complete systems.

I like my WB E series. I had the PowerCore IV and I sold it after 2 weeks. WAY TOO LOUD! The WB adds low to mid-range power without losing any top end. And you can tune it to go either way. I'm going to add 6 more disks this spring. Right now I've got the standard 12 in and I'm running a 160 main. I've got a 3" dia hole in the air box. It runs great. And the sound is just right. For 240 bucks, I don't think you can go wrong with it.
