Your post is confusing! You say "rear end", then you talk 2-stroke vs 4-stroke....so do you mean the rear end of the engine??? But to me, "rear end", means the back axle, sprocket, etc., which is similar no matter whether 2-stroke or 4-stroke.

So, please explain a little more. If it is the engine, park it before you do major damage!

see thats the thing, im about 90% sure its the rear axle, but im tryin to figure out what would be bouncing around back there and it still being able to run, i mean the sound is coming from the rear end, what could it be then?

i could be the swingarm cuz mine has a messed up swingarm bearing and it makes a popping noise when you go over things, but if its in the rear end id guess something gear wise cuz i wouldnt imagine the brake hub making a noise like that

Don't ride it! It is probably your rear axle bearings. Mine did the same thing, but out on a ride 50 miles from my truck in the desert, and I had to ride it home. Toasted the bearings, the carrier, and the axle. Cost me a bundle!

Is it hard to keep the chain in adjustment? Put the rear end up on a crate, and see if the axle has play in it or grinds when you turn it.

Have you had it in the mud or a lot of wet lately?
