2002 Rancher ES problems
Ok, so I just got this 2002 Rancher 350 ES from a guy for $500.. I know it is good, he was just tired of trying to figure out what the problem is and too cheap to take it to the shop.
Before I take it to the shop I would like to work on it a little myself.
First off, the digital display does not show anything at all when I turn the key. checked the battery, its good. Tried to pull start it at first and it wouldnt start. I then tried to "hot start" it by touching the posts together on the solenoid. NOTHING not even a spark. Check all the fuses behind the battery, they are fine.
Anyway, I ended up being able to pull start it. The engine runs great! However, the display started to show information but the speed was jumping from 0 (due to it being in nuetral) to 99 and everything in between.
Thats not the big problem, the big problem is that none of the switches like the shifting, lights or starter switch work... I have looked on the forums and have found out that most likely it is going to be the angle sensor. But I have also found that the previous owner has spliced a few wires maybe thinking they were bad..
HondaMechanic by chance do you have a wiring diagram for this model? And does anyone else have any advice that can help me?? Please and thank you in advance..
