50 mph sounds a little on the lowside my honda recon will do that!
Other wise the 450r winds out at about 70mph and there is no way honda had to worry about the 400ex keeping up with the 450r.</end quote></div>
eh i dono about them not having to worry. when Honda only had a 400ex as their top bike they were quick for there time. up in the 60's mph. but now since honda and everyone else has their 450's as their top performance bikes, Honda is slowing the 400ex down a tiny bit to make their be a big enough difference between the 400 and 450. they want a gap between performance so the customer doesn't just choose the cheaper bike.

the two quads are completely different in terms of power and performance.
the 400ex is better for trails and being lugged down but the 450r makes its power way up high in the rpm range. lets just not compare these two bikes

yes your completely right. the 400 is great on the trails and the 450 is perfect for the track. i was just tryin to say that honda changed the 400ex to turn it into more of a trail bike instead of a fast and lot of top end high reving power bike like the 450. they want two different bikes. not two similar ones.

Well I've determine that gps magellan is a POS!
Rode with my cousin and his 01 rancher es....I said ok let's hit this back road and we'll wind them out and u see how fast yours does top speed and I'll see if I can pass you and have more to give.....
well he was doing well over 50 he said 55ish bc the road wasn't 100% pure flat but pretty flat so that had a little to play into it.
well I rode with him as he was wound out and gave him a byby wave and let the rest go on mine and pulled off from him easy....
thats all I can say right now until I have a better way to clock it.....his speedo should be correct tho his is all stock even the tires are what came on it he never rides it..
