I was wondering if anyone new how fast a stock 300ex can go or how fast can it go up to its rev limit. And does anyone know how fast they go with an aftermarket exhaust on it like the one i have........HMF

buddy of mine has a stock 1997 (I think) 300ex that has seen better days, we ride and his tops 50-55 I think, not sure if that is consistant with others cause like I said his is not mint [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I have a 04 300ex cobra exhaust 122 main jet I was going 63 on slight dowm hill and not wide open yet.

 

What do you mean by 122 main jet. I have an HMF exhaust but i do not have a way to find out how fast i am going.

 

The main jet is the fuel jet in the carb. It controlls how much fuel your engine gets. When you put on an exhaust it allows more air flow through the engine. Same with your k&N. Some run with lid off or holes in lid to provide more air flow. More air flow, more gas, more power.

You list a K&N Jet kit. Did someone install the jet for you? You MUST rejet if you are running those mods otherwise risk burning up your engine.

The main jet is in your carb also sorry I have a 128 jet 122 is stock .You said you have a K&n jet kit did you put it in?The have numbers on them.I am going to put a 130 in soon it is running a little lean I think.
