I was just wondering which atv is a better all-around vehicle. I know the blaster is more sporty, and that the recon is more of a utility vehicle, but I want to know which would do better on a trail; a blaster or a recon.

Recons more sportier than you would think. Like a sport quad in utility skin..look at the 250ex..basically the same thing as the recon.

Definatly the Recon, less matinance being four stroke, and shaft driven. Plus you cannot beat the reliability of a Honda.

For trailriding.....no doubt about it the Recon!!! It will climb anything as long as you have traction. And 45 miles an hour is plenty fast on the trail.

Well....I have a Recon and my buddy has a Blaster, both '98 models. Mine is in the garage, ready for a run...his is in his garage, ready to sit for a long time. He has put about 5000 bucks worth of maintenance into his Blaster. Crazy! Anyway, I've taken my Recon thru the mud, on the trail, on the dunes, and on the track. It has excelled everywhere I've taken it and hauled the Blaster (and hubby's 400ex) out of many a mud hole. It has been a reliable and great quad I definately recommend the Recon. Look at my pics of it!
