I recently changed out my stock dirt hooks on our Rubi, and went with the Titan 27x9x12 for the front end. And the 27x12x12 on the rears using the stock honda rims. No rubbing no problems with of any kind with the tire change. What i did notice was the size difference between the new ITP 589's, you all do know that ITP bought out Titan. On the comparison issue, the ITP 589's I purchased from the local Honda dealer along with the steel ITP rims, there is a noticeable hight difference at least an inch and a half with the ITP's. I can't seem to figure out where this difference is coming from since the steel rim is a slightly wider rim than the stock Alum, rim that the Rubi comes with. I would have thought that with the stock rim being a little narrower it would make the tire stand a little taller. But it seems to work in the opposite direction. Any ideas out there?

This is a clip from an email from a Titan sales associate a few weeks ago:

“We will soon have a new generation two 589 on the market. It will be six ply rated and have a better appearance. Watch for it!”

Has this change happened? Is it 6ply now, and does it look any different?

Hi Simon, I don't know if the change has taken place yet. These tires are 4 ply ITP,589's. Tread depth is the same as the Titan 589's and i run the same air pressure in both sets 5lbs. And still the Itp 589's set higher that the ole Titan style. I am not complaining just explaining I am all for ground clearance any way i can get it.
