300ex 04 raptor rear shock mounting

Default 300ex 04 raptor rear shock mounting

Ok, i bought an o4. .. I know i can mount it if i start hacking stuff up,
what i want to know is,
can it be mounted upside down/>

it looks like it would clear that way

You should have done a little more research before buying, only the 2001 Raptor shock will work, it was the only year with a remote resivior, there is no way the piggyback style will fit by the air box.

It looks like i can cut a few trivial things and it would fit,
Id rather not, I just want to know if anyone
has tried mounting these things upside down,
or if there is any reason why it would be a bad idea to mount upside down

Some shocks can be mounted any direction, but most fluid filled shocks need to be mounted right-side up, especially with a resivoir on the shock,won't work right and probably wreck or wear out the seals upside down.
