Default 300ex front shocks upgrade

Ok, Mine are starting to squeek, although they ride ok, i want more travel
and a better shock, i definitly push these things..

I know you can do 400ex shocks with a few conversion pieces

I want to know if 450R shocks can be installed the same way,
and if they are going to be too stiff or whatever,

Any other stock machine shocks?

I weigh 225

Well I have a '99 Honda 400EX and I put 450R shocks on it. It took a little work to put them on but they work. But the 300EX has a shorter eye-to-eye measurment. So i dont think that they will work but if you do find a way to put them on, they probably be extremely stiff. The ones on my 400 are a little stiff for me but i like it cause i go a fast as i can. You might be able to send them in the get respringed and revalved to your liking. Hope that helps.

By far the best upgrade to the front of the 300ex is the 400ex a-arm and shock swap. With used parts bought off eBay,and the top shock mounting kit (also sold on ebay) you will have a 2" wider front end, way better handling, and almost twice the suspension travel (translation:very hard to bottom out) I bought all my parts for my son's 300ex off ebay cheap, it made night and day difference in handling and ridel. The stock brake lines were fine, didn't need to buy the longer 400ex front lines, just need 400ex tie rods to reach the longer distance, and you are set, for about the price of a pair of aftermarket shocks.
