My esp works great, but when I put it in auto, sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. When it acts up, it is like I have the brakes on trying to move. It gets bogged down and doesn't want to go. I put it in esp, and it works fine.

Try this,
1. While holding the up and down shift buttons onthe left handlebar, turn the key on / off / on. The dash should flash.
2. Now press up / down / up on the shifter, and then press the throttle to full throttle one time.
3. This is called initializing the transmission.
Let me know if this solves your problem

I tried the transmission initializing on my Rancher 07 it did not have any effect on my problem. I have tried to retreave the error codes also the ECM is not showing any. Could the ECM be faulty? If the centrifugal cluch was bad would'nt it also malfuction in EPS mode. Thanks for any help.

No they will shift properly in ESP .. When in Auto mode the ECM doesn't know what position to put the swash plates because if the centrifugal clutch is glazed/burnt it will cause the engine to rev higher than normal which confuses the ECM ..
